Amy Newman, CNM WHNP

I have always had an interest in and a passion for women’s health; I even decided I wanted to become a midwife at the age of sixteen. I attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing for my undergraduate nursing studies. I worked for ten years as a registered nurse, mostly in Labor and Delivery and women’s health. During this time, I attended Columbia University for my Master’s degree in Midwifery and Women’s Health.
I worked as a midwife at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center for over five years, and gained diverse and valuable experience while there. Since 2009 I have worked as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner in private practice in Long Island. I am so proud to have joined Women for Women Ob/Gyn in November 2010. In my practice, I always stress patient education and an individualized approach to care. I live with my husband and children in Sea Cliff, NY.
